@YNVTish_AKA_YUpdateTish I think it's probably a joke. A few days ago people were talking about changing the names of people who don't update when they "should." That would be my guess. Congrats on your baby girl though!!!
Ooooh! So Ms. Mama-Mia @Mama_Kat is behind it... LOL ok! (Ill get her) she always manages to stay one up on me..
So my story from Hell... Wanna hear it, here it goes...
Ladies.. DO NOT DO A BIRTH PLAN... ONLY PLAN FOR A BIRTH... SERIOUSLY!
_________________________ So I was all planned for this grandiose delivery, which my Dr was also helping to paint this picture as well. Sike!
My honey and I decided to have one last meal together... All you can eat seafood. OMG! The bomb-diggity! (still paying for it, cause I still have not had a bowel movement) LOL
So after dinner we go directly to the hospital to be admitted. Decide to get there a little early so we can get the carseat base installed.. and the window sun screen.. and baby mirror too. 2 out of 3 were done, still can't get the mirror done.
So we get into admissions... Get in! After blood work and other woo-blah they were talking about they get the cervadyl put in me.
It looks like a piece of tight netted fabric with a long thick string. What they did is the roll it all up, coat it with lube and the stick in up "behind" your cervix. Tucks it in there. Its a slow release med!
Asked for my Epi right away, and the nurse said "Oh there's no need for it so let's just wait let's get your cervix soften then we'll do it before you get uncomfortable" :-)
Well by midnight.. I was contracting but now I had s new nurse... She says "lets make sure your in active labor so right before we start the pitocin we'll do it.
By 3pm.. now new shift and this nurse comes in gun-hoe about getting the pitocin started.. I literally said "Hell f'n NO.. I am not going on pitocin UNTIL I get my epi." Everyones mouth dropped!
So we had to wait on the epi... I'm like no problem. Well 1.5 hours later her comes dumb ass Tracy the anesthesiologist that got her Dr license from the cracker-jack box! (Sure wish I bought that box) LOL
She has my honey leave the room... He's starving so he goes running out to hit the hospital cafe. (Just abandon ship on me) LOL
So Tracy The Lilly-pop Nurse takes almost 2 hours, and 3 attempts to put my epi in and could not get it to work right. But instead of saying it, she just keeps trying. So she keeps putting "other" meds in me to keep my comfy which were making me super drousy causing me to fall dopey and asleep then .. she tells me I'm not staying still. (ummmm yeah I was still the first damn hour you were screwing up)
So finally she says its not 100% but I'll keep topping you off with other meds to keep you comfy.
So she drugged me up and they started the pitocin.
Now I'm already having enough issues, but here comes my damn In-laws. Errrr!
They come in like they're running shit. All in my room, talking loud, cracking jokes, gossiping and trying to fuss my honey out. This is the last thing I needed. My contractons were hitting, and I'm already huff'n and puff'n through them. Totally in pain again I call for Tracy..
OMG... Tracy vs. Diva Rhonda RN (Sis-in-law)
Rhonda had to let it ve known she's an RN .. she wanted know how many CC's they were using, what drug, blah blah blah and I'm in pain, not able to talking thinking... Just let the "B" top me off. Please! So instead of letting her do it.. her and Tracy get into it and asks for another anesthesia... WTF! So my honey sees I'm pissed and gets them to stop and just top me off.
By this time I'm 5-6 cm and only receiving 1 drip of pitocin (In really sensitive to it) do they go up one more drip. By the second hour I'm 8-9 and asking my honey where my Mom and oldest daughter is and said it was time for them to go.
Well apparently the last hour my they had been in the lobby waiting but my In-laws didn't want to go. I guess they were pissing my other nurse off too so as soon as I asked for my family she has my In-laws leave out. (they were pissed)
Now everyone's in place. My honey, my mom and my oldest daughter. BUT now I'm in horrible, tremendous and excruciating pain.
Ladies ... You FTM its the most misserable you will feel in life. Ever!
I cried, scream, moaned, rocked, kicked.. I think I punched my honey, I know I bit him and onetime I gripped his shirt and damn near pulled his chest hairs out.
Everyone worked hard to try and get me comfy... Fan air, cold towels, massage, jokes, calm talking, everything.
At one point I broke down crying and my deughter starts crying and my honey...
Tracy the bubble gum Dr comes back in to top me off.
Well I hit 10 cm at my 3rd hour after they start pitocin. As soon as I feel the urge to push I roll to my back and grab my legs and start... The nurse was like wait, my Mom starts screening Leticia what are you doing.. my honeys trying to get me to stop.. I push twice and the nurse is freaking calling for my Dr. By the next contraction he was in the room catching the baby while the staff is working to get set up.
I push her out then few minutes more I push the placenta .. thank you lord its finally over with. That's the one good thing. The madness has to come to an end...
So no rips, cuts or hemerroids! Nothing! Not even the shits on the table.
She comes out crying and check her and when they bring her over I start crying cause I'm so damn high I couldn't even focus in on her, keep my eyes open or comprehend what was being said to me.
This was the one time I could have appreciated going drugless.
My honeys tearing up telling me just lay back I'll take care of her baby.
So he bathed her, helped with footprints and took picture all in the room.
Then here comes Tracy's dumb ass... Telling me how I have a spinal leak and she needs to patch the hole up.
By this time I already knew it cause I had the headache, blurry vision and sore neck. It was already attacking my nervous system.
So she had to draw 20 cc's of blood from my arm and patch my epi by filling my spine with the blood. It creates a scab like in my spine stopping the leak.
My migraine goes away as she's doing it. After an hour they move us to recovery.
Besides my nightmare adventure my daughter is beautiful hasn't cried, breastfeed great, beautiful tropical skin, lil curly locks, and only 7lbs 6 oz.. not 11 lbs like her daddy was.
The day after delivery my spine leak symptoms came back but left again. Now I'm just sore and tired.
We decided on..
Haylee Brooks for her name...
Sorry so so long!
Been here from Thursday until Sunday. Going home today. I
Awe that sucks butt you had to go though all that but in the end you have your bundle of joy that's totally worth it Congrats mommy now get your rest the fun is about to begin
@Jtmoon98 ... I'm not sure why but my hospital contracts their anesthesia services now. They use to use the hospital anesthesiologist but now the contract the service and have a full time anesthesia in the department at all times.
She would have had to call her boss then I would have had to wait for her.. it was already a bad situation.
He boss did come in the following morning to check on me and check me out.
Aww huni sorry to hear your had a bad time of it.....But what came out in the end is worth every thing in the world. God bless you and your new family babes. Love and light!! XxxXxx
@ YNVTish congrats mama!!!!! Sounds like a Hollywood movie...lol, Ill make sure when its my time, I don't want cracker jack Tracy nowhere near me. I didn't know St. Josephs contracts their anesthesiologist
@ynvtish I'm a little nervous now. I'm going in Thursday evening for the cervix softening, with induction early Friday.. so sorry you had such a rough time, but Congrats on baby. My precious niece is hayli Marie.. beautiful name.
Wow crazy story, I'm a ftm and now I'm scared to get and epidural. So glad you and your baby girl are doing great hope we get to see pics soon, congrats!
Thanks everyone.. I miss talking to you guys all day. Still having a lot of complications from my epi spinal leak and its hard for me to log on through my phone... Having to spend all day flat on my back while my spine patch scabs.
When I sit up I get headaches, neckaches, migraines and vision issues... Then as soon as I lay back it instantly goes away. It's crazy how it does it.
Have another appt today to be checked. May have to go in and be admitted again to get a 2nd epi patch and lay up do 3 days til it heals.
I agree with most of you.. if you decide to to with the epi or other spinal drugs... Have the best of the best do it... That's real talk! Make sure you arrange it ASAP when you hit the hospital because when your under labor pressure you just want ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING DONE IMMEDIATELY!
I wouldn't tell anyone NOT to get the epi... Cause 3 out of 4 epi's worked for me.
Haylee is a great baby.. she has slightly severe case of jaundice do were running to the lab every morning for daily tests since we've been discharged Sunday.
She left the hospital with 9.3 hyperbillirubin, tested 14.9 yesterday and going for another testing in a few hours. If she reaches 19.0 she has to go back in the hospital for photo-synthesis treatment.
If so my Dr will admit me too to be close and for additional spinal patch recovery.
I'm having to add formula into my breastfeedings so she can pick up weight to kick this jaundice.
Whew.. well going back to lay down, I'm in major pain.
Oh PS... Can't wait to update you guys on my sis-in-law, she's been on my last nerve. Errrrrr!
Oh my goodness hun!!glad you're both okay. Hopefully your spinal leak will go away soon and Haylee's jaundice goes away soon! Praying for a speedy recovery for you both! Excited for the sis-in-law update though!
