Who is/has gotten induced without medical reason?

How many of you are getting induced or have been induced without medical reason to?
How many weeks and days were you or will you be?
And how did you go about asking your ob to induce you without medical reason?

I was with my first and let me tell u it was the worst mistake I ever made I was induced on my due date just because that was when my doctor could legally do it since it was my first so went in at 5 pm the night before and had petocin strip put in well they checked in the morning and it had failed so they broke my water at 9 am then the contractions started I felt like I was going to die I can't remember exactly when but I think it was like 11 am I got the epi and then no pain at all then I started to dialate i went from a 1 to a 3 in like 4 hours then I stayed at a 3 for 4 1/2 hours they opted for an emergency c Sec and now I'm praying for a vbac we shall see and all I did was say I would like to be induced if I am not progressing by the time my due date hits and she said ok

I went to a dr appt at 39 weeks and he sent me for an u/s to check her position. My next appt was scheduled for 39 weeks 5 days and he said everything looks great, how do you feel about being induced? I *think* he did it because of her size, the u/s tech said she was over 8lbs, but I really don't know and I was so excited by the idea of her finally coming, I didn't even think to say no.

She was born exactly on her due date and they gave me an epi almost immediately after I started pitocin, so I felt nothing. I did not have to have a csection.

But whether you can go early or not mostly depends on your dr. Some dr's will induce for anything and others refuse to even discuss it, no matter what pitiful story you tell. I would just ask, the worst that can happen is they say no.

I also got induced on my due date they had to break my water i did dilalate to 10 but since my body was not ready my hips would not spread and they had to do an emergancy c section on me also...i also am hoping to have vbac but i will have to wait and see...and i will not get induced!!!

38 weeks..
I was 17 so i just told him I wanted to be induced.. And he was cool with it.
It wasnt that bad for me, even tho i had a csec, but thats bc the hospital didnt check her position and she was faced the wrong way.. But the csec wasnt bad..

No I was not effaced just dialated a fingertip but I'm sure if I would have waited for my body to be ready I would have been fine

With my 1st I just asked if I could be induced because I found out that my doctor was on duty on my due date. It was never any begging or anything, I just asked and he said ok. I was at a 2 and effaced for two weeks.

No induce(ment?) with my daughter cause my water broke but they gave me pitocen early on... big mistake.... My body wasnt ready for labor and we ended up having an emergency c-section for fetal and maternal distress....

I got induced with my first daughter at 39 weeks,I asked my doc and he set the date. I'm goin to do the same with my second daughter.

Oh and I forgot to mention that my son ended up with bacterial menangitus and almost died the childrens hospital said that it was somehow related to delivery but thank god he is safe and healthy now and I'm not saying that would happen to u just letting u know why I personally will never do that again and if I must have a c Sec I will just have that no inducing for me ever again but whatever u chose is up to u and please don't feel that I am judging u at all good luck girl with whatever u chose to do

See, I wanna ask to be induced at 39 weeks. I'm already 60% effaced, 2cm dilated, and baby is at station -2 and very low. I've been to l&d for preterm labor and almost in preterm labor multiple time. And I can stress myself out so easily that I think it'd be best for me to have a set date so I can be ready and know what's going to happen. I feel like if my water breaks randomly I'm going to freak out! And I think my body is ready since they've had to stop labor so many times. I just don't know if they'll say yes. I have a midwife and heard they usually won't induce you unless it's medically necessary. Opinions? @kimbo13 @Mommy2IsaiahNGiselle @KylieMommie @Karla_with_a_K @luvbump @laura536

I was induced with all 5. The last 2 were at 39 wks because of the distance from my house to the hospital. I have no horror stories...

I was induced with both kids at 38.6weeks. My doctors offered it to me

I got a lecture from a client today not to induce...but im asking tomorrow since im dialating. Its too much at work lately...i was induced 12 yrs ago....no epi it was aweful. But i wasnt ready we took baby early for medical reasons. Its 4th baby so im not worried.

I say do what you want....the worst that can happen is that you ask and he says no and then you want till you go into labor on your own.

I was induced at 39w4days. I just asked my doctor because my Hubby was deploying and I had to move all within 2weeks from my due date. I wasn't dilated at all and honestly I would do it all over again. I went in at 11pm by the time they actually started the medicine it was about 1am and I had her at 11:56pm.

My doctor already agreed to do one at 39 weeks, no medical reason, but my doc is going away for her daughters wedding and I really want her as this is my first and my mother in law is in town and has to leave a few days after my due date so this gives me more time to have have her to help me, good luck love

I was induced w/ my youngest son. I was right @ my due date(not even over yet) & the dr just asked me if I wanted to be, I said yes just cuz I felt so ready to have him & tired of being pregnant. So they put me on pitocin for as long as they could @ the highest dose they could and it wasnt working & they couldnt break my water cuz he was up too high so I ended up havin a csection which I was NOT expecting and was very upset. My cousin went to the same dr a yr later when she was havin her son & they told her that bein induced is the quickest way to a csection, I was like thanks for telling me!!!! If they had I never would have done it, I think your body knows when its ready.
