Spotting at 27wks

So I just went pee & spotted. I think its my mucous plug but Idk because I don't remember this last pregnancy. I'm scared on my way to the ER. Is it to early for me to lose my plug?

I've heard from others here that your plug can come out in pieces. I've also read that it can grow back.
