Amazon.com Help

edited July 2011 in Just for Fun
Well I don't know mu h bout these sites but cousin said she's got an account & to check the site. If I like anything she'll get it & I pay her back. So I'm cruising the site & see decent priced pet things. So I check out the dollhouses. Like to surprise our daughter with the Imaginarium Grandview Dollhouse at the shower so she's not left out. But Amazon wants $500 for it!! I thought Amazon was cheap! So I Google the dollhouse & ToysRus got it for $300. Am I looking at the wrong Amazon section? Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Or if I can get the dollhouse cheaper? Id like to spend less than $200. If I can.

  • aww i know those houses arre expensive. the only time i see them cheap is before christmas at toys r us lol. but its weird because amazon usually has things for cheaper there.. i buy stuff i can't find in stores on there
  • I know they're supposed to be cheap. But as I've searched I've found no exceptional deals...except a cat condo for $65 its pretty big. @myHEARTZx3
  • Amazon is expensive plus their shipping is high. Sometimes you can find some good prices but not really.
  • Hmm that's what I'm seeing @jcmommy though cousin said her mom bought curtains for $3 & a lady onhere bought. A personal toy for $0.03!! 3 cents!!!
  • hmm maybe check nextag.com?
  • @myHEARTZx3 ill check. What's the process on payment there?
  • shoot i think just credit card? the only thing i have ever bought from them was my sons hair gel LOL
  • @myHEARTZx3 they don't have it. On goes my search....thanks!
  • Buzzillions.com have them for 299
  • So does toysrus @agoodloe thanks!

  • Yes definitely depends on the product and seller. If you're a student, you can sign up for a prime acct for free. You get free shipping on qualifying products, which includes most items sold by Amazon. Other sellers on Amazon could be an individual or a company. Items from Amazon can be more expensive, items not from Amazon Can be cheaper, but with higher shipping costs.
  • Amazon is not cheap on all things. What is great about amazon is two day free shipping. You can get that number of ways. Amazon mom membership, signing up is free.

Or you can get trial prime membership, that's what I did. I literally ordered everything baby needs and I was able to compare it with all major stores like babies rus , target, walmart. I got the best deal at amazon. Certain things are more expensive when they are usually from a third party seller and return policies are different. When I bought stuff from amazon and had issues with it, they just ship me a new one next day and send me a paid return label. It saved me so much time and headache. I get the read reviews on everything I buy and not run around the stores like mad women, trying to find the item and just trust packaging. Than you have to load, bring it home. No way! All I did was click.

Best tip is , look for items sold directly by amazon. Sign up for free shipping. Trial one is great, just remember to cancel after 30 days for prime or sign up for mom membership.

Ohh also they have this thing called subscribe and save. If you're buying diapers, wipes. The price is very good. Costco is pretty good at diapers but I compared it and found better products that beat costco prices plus free shipping. So this subscribe and save thing , you sign up for toilet paper every 3 months delivered to you let's say, they give you pretty sweet discount and they ship for free and you can cancel anytime.

  • I completely agree with @ashthurs. Sign up for amazon mom and you'll get a prime membership. Most things I buy off amazon are cheaper but definitely depends on the product. What I love about amazon prime is the free shipping and its fast!
  • Thanks ladies! So basically shop around for a deal....like I always do anyway. I'm frugal! Or cheap...however you like to say it!
