If you were trying to keep her out of trouble, then maybe you could have sent her a private message letting her know she may have broken a forum policy. But instead you sent the thread to mama_Kat pointing out the fact that she broke a policy. I'm not trying to cause an issue with you, just letting you know that may be where the attitude is coming from.
I don't normally comment on threads like this but I am up..wide awake and can't help myself tonight The idea that it is ok to use a racial slur simply because you are that race is asinine. However you speak in your home or with friends and family, this is an open forum and there will be people who are offended, including people who are of Mexican or Hispanic descent. So if anyone chooses to uses what is widely considered a racial slur on a public forum, they open themselves up to critique of that word. So you might think it is your "right" to say that word but everyone else also has the "right" to comment on said post as well. And I definitely am emphasizing the word "right" because if the moderators feel it is against the rules of this forum then it will be their right to ban as they see fit. And I truly believe that at the beginning of the thread, the women here was responding to her vent about her husband but also pointed out to be careful because there would be people who are offended and noone wants to see anyone banned. And since racial slurs are prohibited, that can happen. IMO, words are given too much power. Especially words like this. However, if it is right for one race to use the word, then it should be fine for all to use the word if only to make the word powerless and less likely to offend or hurt. Either everyone uses it or noone does. Again, just my opinion. I hope it all works out for the best and hormones and emotions calm down and quit trying to pick apart posts looking for drama. Sometimes, everyone just has the best intentions!

As I have said in previous posts of mine @mama0811 , I tend not to comment on relationship vents simply because I think there are always three sides to the story and other than to say, "I hope it works out," I know nothing about her relationship and what has lead up this behavior or vent. So without knowing that, I don't have advice to give to work it out. There tends to always be more to the story than just one random post or vent about significant others. And by the time I read posts venting like this, numerous people at that point have already said, I hope it works out in some way or another. And since about 3/4th's of this thread has to do actually with the racial slur used, I think that actually has become the issue at hand, whether you think it is condescending or not.

I don't think she meant any harm as well and I don't think the people who first brought it to her attention that it can be offensive to some thought she meant any harm either. As I said, I thought they were trying to be helpful in pointing that out and in no way was bashing her for it. Then other people jumped on their case for pointing it out and so on and so on until we got to this point That is why I said it would be better to assume that everyone here is posting with the best of intention to help out and quit looking for drama. I think it was their best intention to point out that it could be considered a racial slur and they don't want to see anyone banned for it.
