  • i always heard 4 months is when they can have the cereal then babyfood starting at 6 months,so thats what i always go by.
  • I think its ok at 4months but most people would say 6.
  • U should ask at ur babies doctor appointment...
  • Ask your pediatrician, when I had my daughter, the recommendation was changing from 4 months to 6 months. And one of the girls on my fb waited til a year!

  • 6 months, but if baby is exclusively breastfed, then technically, you can go without solids for a year. my youngest son didn't start eating solids til he was almost 9 months (mostly because he refused it), but my 2 oldest started with rice cereal at around 4-6 months.
  • My health visitor told me 6 months but a lot if the packaging for baby food says suitable from 4 months. My neighbour keeps giving my lil one solids when she babysits. He's had rich tea biscuits which go all soft when you suck them, chocolate, ice cream, baby rice and he stuck his hand in her sheperds pie and licked it off and he's only 2 months.

  • My son had mashed potatoes at 7wks.
  • The reason they say to wait is because of allergies. If your baby has an allergic reaction there's nothing you can do at home. It's so dangerous. Wait 4 months at least
  • @everyone thanks for replying :-D
  • Yeah we are told 6 months in the UK but to wait till at least 20/21 weeks as before this their bodies can't digest properly!
  • I was told when the baby can handle its saliva..but I'd ask your pediatrician..
