i hate my dr at times

Im 25 wks prego and i have had the same dr for about 15 yrs. But with my last pregnancy i was a high risk case so i had a specialist. Anyways im not high risk yet and my dr isnt familar with my last pregnancy bc i was high risk. Im starting to have some of the same problems and mt dr wont do anything about it. I went in today for my monthly checkup and asked him to check me and he told me that there was no need. But told me that the lab was behind and that he hadnt bn able to look at my harmones so i asked him to ck me to see if i was having contractions and he told me there was not reason. Like i just want to be molested please..... i know im having contractions. But he sent me home..... i really thinking to change drs .... is it smart this far to change drs?

I would change doctors. I had the same problems with my former doctor earlier in my pregnancy and decided to switch doctors. I got sick for 6 weeks after they gave me the damn flu shot and all they could tell me was that it wasn't a pregnancy issue I must have just gotten the flu. Isn't that what the damn shot is for to prevent you from getting sick.

Absolutely change..you know your body! Call the specialist that you had previously and ask if he can recommend an ob...that way if something happens they can work together

Im just worried because im over half way done.... i might call my specialist to see what he says... thanks ladies

Change doctors...this is supposed to be the best experience of your life and you shouldn't let anyone get in the way of that. I switched 3 times with my last pregnancy before I felt I had a doctor who was actually listening to me and took the extreme pain I was in seriously. All of the doctors I tried were in the same office, but none of them took it personally...they understand that the fit has to be right between doctor and patient.

It may be difficult since you're 25 weeks along but I would get a referral from your specialist. I'm 16 weeks & just had to change doctors because the one I was seeing didn't seem to care that I was actually pregnant. I saw him every week for 2 months because I was losing weight & he never examined me, checked for a heartbeat, or ordered an ultrasound. He tried to convince me that I was only 6 weeks along when in fact I was 13!! I've had horrible stomach pain since Dec that NEVER goes away & he acts like it's in my head.

I had a doctor that would edge his way out the door while i was trying to ask questions. Later find out he's letting the fact that I had preclamsia go unnoticed. Things that are even small can turn out to be huge. I agree, definitely switch. 2girls1boy's idea was really good:)

Im 24 weeks and I just switched my doctor two weeks ago. Because I thought I could just deal with the disfunction of the doctors office and just got fed up with it.

im just fed up with him. He treats me like a first time mom. This is my 3rd prego and ive had 6 miscarges i know my body. I guess im going to change drs. Maybe the specialist will give me a good referal.

Yep. Im 23 weeks and changing dr this month have my last appt on monday, gonna get my records transferred while im there. Was decent dr, but she isn't the one who would deliver me, i would just get whoevers on call. Im not ok with that. The dr in the room should at least have seen me and done an exam before delivery.
