Chicken Pox

I work for social services and spend a lot of time working with children. I had a call today to say the child i worked with all day yesterday has chicken pox!? I had chicken pox when i was a child but am worried that if i get it now it can be dangerous?? does any one know? Im 24 weeks pregnant

  • As long as you had it before you shouldn't get it again. However you should would tell your doctor anytime you are exposed to anything more then just a common cold, and even that if you tend to catch them alot. Your baby should be fine because they s/he is still protected by your immunities but still tell your doctor just so they know.

    Funny thing and I have no medical reasoning to back this at all but when my mother was pregnant with me she was exposed to chicken pox and I have never gotten it despite being exsposed to it alot and often as a child it was like I had a natural immunity.
