Picking up other children

My husband doesn't want me picking up our boys. They're 4 (weigh about 37 lbs) and its hard to tell them that I can't carry them to bed, or to tell them to get in the car by theirself because I can't pick them up. Do you think this is really a problem? Any ideas on how to handle it? I'm 7 weeks.

Yes, you shouldn't be doing such heavy lifting. Also, they are 4. It's time they learn to do things on their own before your newborn comes. It will be more hectic on you trying to handle so much. My son is 4 and has switched into baby mode. The crawling and baby talk. I don't give into it cause he's too heavy for me.
