medela breast pump?

edited July 2011 in Pregnant
Hey ladies I know this has been asked before but I'm looking to buy just the single medella electric breast pump... nothing fancy and its about 50 dollars for just the single basic pump (affordable for me) does anyone know if its even good or will I be wasting money??? Suggestions please, I can't afford the 200 dollar medela breast pump but also don't wanna waste 50 on one that's not good? What type of electric pumps has everyone used that they would recommend and are affordable?

  • I had that one. I liked it. I would feed him on one side and pump the other. I think its a good deal. I bought mine almost three years ago so I don't know if its a good deal. Check Walmart and Target for prices. Medela is a good brand
  • ok thanks! So you had the same one I'm talking about? The basic medela single breast pump? It worked good and did the job nicely?
  • Yeah it worked really well. My sister used it after me and I'm gonna use it again with this baby :)
  • I have the medela breast pump. I like it. It works good :)
  • The single medela basic one?
  • Someone told me that they bought a double breast flow pump for 66 at walmart online
  • Is breast flow good?
  • I have a medela pump haven't used it yet cause im a Ftm but I hear good reviews :)
  • I bought my Medella pump, I got the in style double electric, on Ebay. I t is used, but I got new tubing and stuff for it I only paid $75 and it is a $400 pump brand new! I would look on Ebay and see if you can find either the double electric or the one you are looking for. Medella is one of the best on the market.

  • Ok I never thought of ebay, thanks ladies! I'm gonna look on ebay if not I will just get the medela single as planned since its affordable :)
  • @QueenBeeDarling Yea its like a new brand that makes the baby use the same latch and suction as when ur breastfeeding go check it out
  • Try Craigslist. You can sometimes find the nice double electric for a good price. My hospital gave me the tubing and shields that are compatible with it.
  • Did you know that you can rent a pump? And in some cases your insurance will cover it. I would check into it. I have a premiee and our rental is covered with a perscription....you can get from the nurses!
