Testing .....
I have had the blood test done test on all of my babies. My 1st was fine. The 2nd they said she was high risk for ds but we chose not to get the amnio done because they said they could look at the ultra sounds and be able to determine if the baby had any signs of ds. That was 15 years ago. I had my 3rd baby in july 2009 and they did the blood test early in the pregnancy. It came back high risk for ds. We decided to get the cvs. The results came back normal. The waiting is stressful! I am now pregnant with baby number 4 and this time I decided to skip the blood test because I don't like to wait!! We started out with the cvs. The results came back with trisomy 12 mosiacism in the placenta. Wow! I was not expecting that one! We had prepared ourselves for ds which I could deal with. I cried for days after the results. We had to wait 5 weeks to get the amnio to determine if the baby also had the trisomy 12. The stress was unbelievable!!!! I had everyone I know praying for us!!! Thank God the amnio came back that the baby didn't have the trisomy 12! I still have to do ultra sounds every 2 weeks until the baby is born to make sure she is growing right but so far so good!!
