Bike riding: is it safe?

I'm visiting my little sister in a different city and didn't bring a car so to go anywhere we have to ride a city buys or ride a bike. I'm 33 weeks and I'm not sure if it would be a bad idea to ride a bike?

  • I would not, especially not in the streets with traffic.
  • I wouldn't. There's always a chance you could fall.
  • My doc said its safe. I bike alot actually as long as you take it easy and know when to take breaks. Just dont over due it. I biked to the hospital for my ultrasound today and I was tired out.but everything is good! :)
  • We go on family bike rides. Of course we don't go too far. I get tired. So just know your limits. Your not used to biking so I wouldnt go long distance and relax as much as possible :)
  • I read that if you're "experienced" its okay. But in the third trimester your center of gravity is messed up and you may not be all that graceful. I think if you're worried about it being safe, its probably not lol :) if its not a long bike ride, id do it though. Just my opinion!

  • I've read that you shouldn't ride bikes, horses, or go roller skating/blading while prego...
  • if you are used to it and you have rode bikes pretty regularly it should be fine as long as you're careful, but if you're like me and never do any exercise except the occasional walk then its not recommended that you start now haha :)
