Did u give ur baby a pacifier n if so how old? I keep reading it might screw up breastfeeding if you do it too early my girls 2 1/2 weeks old n I only breastfeed

My son took one right away because he had to stay in the nursery at the hospital. They gave him one. It didn't mess up breastfeeding at all with him.

Mine had one within a few days. No problem breastfeeding her!

I gave my daughter one when she was a day old and she has been fine. I only breastfeed and she is 3months today.

I breastfed my first and now this one, they both got a paci after the 1st week and I never had a problem. Good luck

My,son is a week old and I let him have one and he does great breast feeding

Thanks ladies, I have been staring at the pacies so tempted but don't want to mess up what we got going, I struggled with the breast feeding up to a couple days ago

My little girl took hers right away nurseey gave her one to keep her from crying since they had to keep her under special lights for 24 hours because she had jaundice. She still latches on with no problems.

every baby is different. some will get confused, others may not. i breastfed both my babies and my first refused to take a paci at all. with my second he wanted it for about 4-5 wks then was done with them.
i would try to wait it out. but if baby is keeping you awake and simply wont calm outside of feedings, then a paci just might be needed
