im about to have a melt down...

Ok so this is my first child and my husbands parents first grandchild... I understand that they are excited and want to spoil him but could you at least buy stuff that isn't f*cking dirty... he's not born yet and they are buying him toys from garage sales that are dirty and that are for when he gets older like 3... I have no room in my house to keep this dirty stuf and I don't want it... I don't want my sson playing with dirty toys and idk where they came from...

They are over here now I'm sitting in the bathroom in our bedrooom so I don't say anything nasty to them but I don't want those dirty toys in my sons room or even in my house... they are dusty and have dirt stuck to them

I know to some I may sound like a spoiled brat right now and I should be grateful but I just don't like dirty things....

  • Dirty things can be cleaned...
They could have cleaned them before bringing them over. Try taking a clorox wipe to them, and if you really don't want them wait until they leave and go donate them to a church or something.
I bought a ton of stuff from garage sales some were abit dirty but all cleaned up like new.
  • @littlefae I know I'm just so annoyed with it.
  • @Jensensmommy15 - understandable, there are useful things they can give you, and things that are just in the way. Like you mentioned they were toys for when your child is older and it sounds like you don't have the room for them, even to hold onto until then.
They are just excited so try to shrug it off and when they leave you can make the items disappear. :)
Plaster on a smile, deep breaths, and know that you don't have to keep them.
At least you have grandparents who are all excited to be involved even if they have gone over the line. lol
Hopefully they calm down once your baby has arrived.
  • Certain dirty items can be cleaned & sanitized. But I also know where you're coming from. One aunt is buying everything to the point she told me to ask her before I buy anything!! Really? I get no. Choice huh?? Because all she wants to do is buy up everything from thrift stores & garage sales! Some is ok but not all. & everything she tells me she's got its 2nd hand! Nothing new for my kid. So just keep what's good & cleanable & give away everything else. That's my plan & what I've done so far.
  • @littlefae I hope so cuz they are outta control lol

@one5one oh that would be frustrating! I would want at some new stuff.

  • @2beforgotten I'm glad someone thinks like me lol! I just like new things for a new baby and trust me its not like his parents can't afford to buy new things!

  • All things can be washed. Stuff at stores might seem clean, but have u looked on ur babysitter tag where thos items come from...... and some stores aren't that clean or nice to items..

  • They could have cleaned it themselves before giving it to you. Make it look presentable.
  • @valentinasmommy that's what I thought but I guess not every thinks the same lol
