Welcome little Kolby

Baby Kolby came today at 10:52 AM after 2 1/2 hours of labor and 4 pushes.

His heart kept stopping during contractions so he went strait to the baby station. He weighs 5lbs 14 oz and is having a hard time stabilizing his blood sugar levels so he was just admitted to the Special Care Nursery.

Thanks for the prayers and keep em coming. Daddy and I went over to see him and talked with the doctor over there and feel much better.
From what I understand when babies are inside mommies the placenta does everything for them including regulating their sugar levels. The last trimester is when they start putting on fat which helps their metabolism and regulates their blood sugar. Once they are delivered their body takes over the job of the placenta Kolby doesn't have much fat so he's struggling with his sugar levels.

He has an IV in his head giving him sugar water and will slowly wein him off as his sugar levels stabilize.
