blood pressure

Question...my blood pressure has been climbing upbthe last couple weeks...I eneded up spending a night in l & d a couple weeks ago for it Nd they tested for pre e which came bk negative. Well yesterday in the grocery store i started having vision probs so I checked blood pressure and it was 148/100. By the time I got to my car my vision was normal. Checked bp today and it was 158/96...but no more vision problems. So my question is does bicycling bp hurt the baby? I can't afford to b taken off work...let alone the money issue I could lose my position. I'm going to call and make an earlier appt tomorrow...I'm just so afraid of bedrest...I'll b 32 w tomorrow btw

I have gestational hypertension and every week I have to do lab work/24 hr urine. They always come back negative for pre-eclampsia so its just my blood pressure. Every week it keeps going a little bit higher and higher. I'm 36+4 right now and starting at about 32 or 33 weeks is when I started my weekly labs and I have to go in twice a week for NST's and a weekly visit with the doctor. My blood pressure started being high around 30 weeks. I was never put on bedrest but just told to take it easy and I'm doing all those extra visits. I will be induced early right at 37 weeks or 38.
  • Oh and so far my baby has been fine with the NST's. She's very active and her heart rate is perfect.
  • @kcike812 I wonder if they will decide in the end to take baby earlier..
  • @kritten_octoberbby I'm getting induced this wed at 37 weeks or next Monday at 37+5. I'm just worried I'll end up with a csection because she's still really high and I'm barely a finger tip dialated. My Dr says he doesn't want my blood pressure to get any higher because of the risk so its just better to get her out seeing she'll be full term.
  • I also had gestational hypertension. I was on blood pressure medicine, not pre-eclamptic, but the last trimester, my blood pressure was horrible. They put me on 4 days of bedrest (work was not happy), and then I was good enough to stay at work until 2 weeks before delivery. Birth defects related to high blood pressure are not common, but can include low birth rate, premature delivery, and also pre-eclampsia. Please make an appointment with your doctor. More than likely they can get you on blood pressure medicine that will control it, so that you can continue working. I understand how important having and keeping a job and money is, but in the end, I had to take the hit, because my daughters health was being put in danger. They induced me at 40 weeks exactly, and we delivered at 40+2, though my blood pressure to this da is still high.
  • My Bp has been having issues as well. The second number is apparently the one that really gets drs concerned. Mine was getting up really high to 150s/100s. They put me on bp meds and it came back down to high 80s. It's started going back up again and he had me increase my dose. Well it's still climbing. I'm getting rather concerned. I'll be 38wks this Thursday. I'm kinda hoping he just decides to induce me. My bp is just getting too dangerous.
  • Thank you all for your repsonses.... @kcike812 do you remember what your pressures have been running?
  • Last week my first reading was 150/105 then my second was 140/95. When it started getting high it was always around 120-135/80-90. Every week it seems like it goes up little by little.
  • @kcike812 yea thats what i kinda figured.. good luck chic. I know your excited
