My daughter's name is Marielle (with the "mar" pronounced like March and emphasis on the "elle"). People are always telling me how beautiful it is. But, people reading it always want to pronounce it like Mariel (with the "mar" pronounced like merry...as in Mariel Hemingway). We call her Mari or Mari-Mars for short.
