help! constipation problem.....

My baby is constipated on and off and it OS really worrying me. I've changed his formula from sma to aptamil and he is also breastfed. Sometimes he is really struggling to poo and this upsets me. What am I doing wrong? And how can I relieve his constipation and make it clear up? Help please!

Maybe his formula needs to be changed.. try talking to his pedi about it..

It can happen try offering water between feeds and you can use a cotton wool bud and vaseline on babys bum hole to help it a bit. If baby hasn't been for a week or is in a lot of pain go see your doctor.

I did that already, I changed it from sma to aptamil And yes I will talk to the health visitor during the week as that's when I will see her

That's ok and don't worry you are doing nothing wrong my first was always like that but once I found the right formula which was aptimal he was fine

I had to put my little girl on aptimal comfort milk. works a treat! I know is awful seeing them cry in pain!! used to make me wanna cry!

@emmalouise I was crying because I felt helpless and it keeps disturbing his sleep. How much scoops of aptamil do you use @tammy

I use one scoop per oz of water as @emmalouise said the comfort may be better as that's for constipated babies so may be worth a try

formula stops them up.. i would nurse more and give bottles less.. good luck girl

They were some excerise/ massages you can do with to help them out a bit google it.
