@scnewmommy Is that your emergency room co-pay? Thats crazy. I went to L&D a few weeks ago too and so far I've only recieved a $70 bill, hoping thats it. But I made sure they were not condsidering it an "ER" visit because I have an automatic $200 copay with those.
@wallieheadbaby3 Did that include your stay at the hospital too?
Mine will cost me roughly $16,000 if I have my baby before September 22nd... I am currently 36 weeks and due October 3rd. (long story with why insurance wont cover the labor/delivery before then), but it currently does cover my prenatal a 100% and will cover my baby a 100% once born. It's just the actually labor/delivery part that will cost me money if it's before the 22nd. That's also if I go all natural (which I am planning on doing) and there are no complications. So, $16,000 is the lowest end and it's all up from there. Also, if I do make it after the 22nd I'll be paying 1,200 which is the co-pay to my insurance.
Wow im from the UK and have never understood about insurance and paying for medical care, I wont moan so much about paying taxes now because I cant imagine anything worse than having a baby and worrying that we might have to pay thousands

@ashleyfew :O What?! So if my insurance covers 90% I should be expecting a $1,500 bill??
