2month check up, shots

edited September 2011 in Babies
What should I expect to see at our 2 month Dr appointment? I know he's getting his shots. Did you use tylenol (sp) or motrin, both? Our appointments in a couple days and I'm really nervous!

  • At my daughters 2 month they jus checkd weight height head an the Dr came in an checkd everythang over on the baby an got her shots an that was it I used tylenol like 30 mins before her appt.
  • @Next_Jackson2anpreggo - thank you. Did she have any reactions to the shots?
  • Howany shots do they get?
  • I gave tylenol about 30 minutes before apt. She had one oral drink and two shots in each thigh. She didn't get a fever or anything but did sleep almost the whole day.
  • @ My lil guys 2mo checkup they gave 2shots and an oral dosage..he didn't have a reaction to them. but..poor Jaden HATES them as much as I do..They also checked anything your baby may have been dealing with at previous appts..my guy had thrush and a possible hernia. They let you know what percentile your baby is at.. My son is @45% for weight but 70% for his height. May be a tall skinny boy!
  • No she did fine wit her shots they did 2 an a lil drink
  • I just gave mine a little bit of tylenol about 20 mintues prior to getting her shots. She was mostly out of it when we got home. Took a long nap. Just got her 4 month shots tuesday and she only cried for a few seconds. She was better with this round than she was with the 2 month shots
  • Idk if I started at the month check up...but I would give my son tylenol before the appt... He hated them. My daughter was not as bad
  • My daughter's doctor told me if lessens the effectiveness of the vaccine if you give Tylenol before
  • @aydonsmommy when does you little one turn 2 months my little guy is two months on wendsday and has his appointment the same day
  • @Stella - he's 2 months Thursday and his appointment is Wednesday. @all - thank you ladies I feel a bit better kinda knowing what to expect.
  • My son had 3 shots and one oral at his 2month check up. 2 in one leg and 1 in the other. He had no fever/reaction. He slept alot that day, which is very normal. The nurse said no tylenol at all, but his pediatrician said tylenol was fine if hes running a fever. He also said, No inprofuen thats for 6 months +.
  • mine got an oral one and 2 in one leg and 1 in the other. but she threw up the oral one. only cause shes spoiled and dosnt like anything but my breastmilk. she even threw up the tylenol
