Yup sperm has a hormone that softens the cervix & can start you to dialate. Contractions can start after an orgasm. Its also fun & after baby it won't happen for a while!

Why does it induce labor at the end but not beginning, middle or beginning of the end? I'm 32+1 and sex now makes me nervous - plus it doesn't feel right anymore.

My dr said it also depends on how the cervix is already going. If u already are thinning & dialating it will work better.

So it helps start labor but it is OK to have sex thru out the whole pregnacy right? I am only 26 weeks I dont wanna go this early lol

it only works when your body is ready for it to work. its just like when your trying the sorts of carzy(lol) things to start labor. if your body or baby doesnt want to it wont

Some women do have to avoid it if they're at risk for preterm labor.

@mattandmallory27 I'm 24 weeks and have been having intercourse this whole time..and cervix is still closed. Like @proudmommy8789 said, it only works when your body is ready to(:
