I have been reading that you can get a very low, very slow induction for a VBAC. Has anyone had to be induced to start/progress thier VBAC? And how did it work out?
My doc told be they never induce after c-section b/c of increased risk of uterine rupture. I've never heard of a slow one. I'm not sure if it's just the hospitals policy or a national recommendation.
It was somethong like 0.5ml/hr of pitocin which is crazy low and they slowly increase it and then shut it off when the bodies natural pattern is accomplished.
Huh ok. I know that there will be no c-section till after 41w (we're pushing for longer) and my docs are pretty open to getting things done our way so I will talk to them wed to see what they say.
@Dreamaria and @mgrose Well my doctor said we will try it if I get past 41 weeks! But she said she doesnt think Im even gonna make it past this week. She stripped my membranes today so maybe soon..
Wow...pretty interesting! Please update us on how it goes. Praying you don't need induction and it works out that you go on your own ***labor dust*** being sent your way good luck!
Well I am in a Trauma Hospital so I have quick access to all emergency care if needed. She said they dont even get over 20ml for VBAC patients. Its just a kickstart... @dreamaria Thanks for the dust!! I hope to not have to do the induction and progress normally but we will see!! :-D
