Baby shower invites??

When is the "proper" time to send out the invites? My best friend is throwing it for me & says they HAVE to go out a month before. I feel as if they will forget about it if its a whole month. What did y'all do?

    4-6 weeks. You need to give people plenty of notice so they can save up to get you awesome gifts. I did evites which is great for tracking, sending reminders, etc. Plus, I had a link to our registry on Amazon. We got more than 70 gifts. Worked great.

    A month is good... By the time they get them it will be 3 weeks and thats good for your guests to plan.

    My sil just sent mine out a week ago. My baby shower is on oct 9th. It's been crazy cause this is the 2nd time she has sent them.
