@rtmommy Well I put pku because that's the test they do to check for metabolic disorders. And cf is 1 of the things they check when doing a pku they haven't done a sweat test because the first test came back poditive but they always do a 2nd between the first two week of life. So I'm still waitning on those results they told me it was a 90 % chance it could be wrong idk I'm just wondering how often that was
@E_N_J I wouldn't worry til they do the confirmation test, which is the sweat chloride. If your doc told you there was such a high chance it was wrong, then he's the one to listen to. When you kiss your baby, try to see if he tastes salty. That's the easiest way to get an idea of whether the PKU may be right. It's old school, but it's the best way to ease your mind.
Same thing is happening with my daughter. The hospital called this morning and told us that she had to have another pku done. They didn't tell us why, but when we got to the hospital, we saw the paperwork and saw that she had an abnormality for cystic fibrosis. I'm trying to stay positive and not panic, but I'm terrified.
