Question about cutting the cord! please read

So I've been doing research n read that its better for the baby if you wait until the umbilical cord stops pulsing to cut it. The issue is none of them say how long that takes! Anyone know about this bc I really want my son to get those benefits? @HomeBirthAdvocate ?

We just wrote it in our birth plan and went over it with our doctors around 36 wks. They should respect your wishes. It can sometimes take 30 mins or so. Usually they will wait 5-15 with no problem. If the doc was in a hurry I could see it being a problem. Just be firm with them if its something you are serious about.

On the site I read that's what it said ...that's why I didn't bring it up to my dr.

My hospital gave me a birth plan to check off what I wanted and I saw this as one of the options in there.

Yea I have one from them but its not an option I was going to write it in the other wishes part
