I got mine and babys coming home outfit a nursing bra & 2 sports bras camera-charger a couple protien bars a robe baby book & just need hygenics..i think thats it. I heard from everyone the hospital provides all you need
I packed a couple of outfits, socks, brush, vaseline, baby lotion, pampers, wipes, mittens for her hands, hat, receiving blanket, blanket, burp cloths, and I think that's it and guess what I didn't need pampers & wipes but the other things I used I hope this helps:))) good luck:))
I have his coming home outfit 2 gowns 2 sleepers mittens socks some awesome lotion i want him to use hand sanitizer 2 receiving blanks a soft blanket a swaddling blanket bibs hats socks the pacifiers that i want him using not the big ugly hospital one lol burp cloths & i think that's it. I don't think i can fit ANYTHING else in his diaper bag. & in sitting in his carseat i have his baby book & boppy so i don't forget them. I THINK IM PREPARED i just wanted to see if i forgot anything.
My hospital did not provide pacifiers, so if you think you will need one, bring it (or several different brands to try.) Also, my 1st was born with REALLY long nails and they didn't have clippers or a file, so I always bring my infant clippers now.
My hospital also did not provide any toiletries for showering, only towels.
No nipple creams or nursing pads either. Just diapers & dry wipes (you wet them with warm water) & a tube of A&D if you were having a boy who is circed. If you are formula feeding, you will get that.
Surprising since it was a really nice place with giant private birthing rooms.
I packed: nursing pillow, nipple cream, nursing bra, + pads & 2 nursing gowns for me. 3 gowns for the baby, socks, 2 going home outfits, little hats, pacifiers, nail clippers, my own blanket for the baby for going home. Also, my favorite pillow and blanket for me (although hubby used them). A going home outfit for me.
Pack a couple pads for yourself. Otherwise, you will be leaving wearing pads the size of kitchen towels. Those are great IN THE HOSPITAL, not so great if you have to stop somewhere on the way home!
I agree with @2bforgotten pack very minimal I brought so much crap I didn't need. I only used my camera, cell phone charger, going home out fit for baby and me, snavks for hubby and me and clothes for hubby to change after labor (sweats, socks etc).
What I brought that I didn't use books, magazine, blankets for baby, 4 outfits for baby, and hygene (i used theirs)
