Pain whenever I eat, any ideas?

edited October 2011 in Pregnant
I'm 26w + 3d I've had discomfort after eating for most of my 2nd tri, it tends to occur under the bottom of my ribs on the right side. Seen doctor who gave me meds for reflux & constipation, while these have sorted out other problems its not sorted the pain, I was convinced it was trapped wind as it would gradually get worse by late afternoon & could relieve pain by lying down. Now pain starts within few mins of eating anything, if can't lie down (i work full time etc so not easy) it continues to worsen to point its brought tears to my eyes. It usually starts off as a sort of feeling something inflated under my ribs, progresses to strong dull ache, get burning sensation alternating with Sharp stabbing pain & it is painful if touch ribs from outside.
Anyone got any idea what the heck is causing it or what I can do to stop it?
I am waiting for call back from doc at the mo as well

  • Gall stones ask for a scan I had the same thing they removed my gall bladder 6 weeks after I had the baby.
  • Also eat just low fat it makes a huge difference.
  • I had thought gall bladder but everything thing I've read says if it is, the pain isn't relieved by lying down so its got me really confused. I'll try the low fat diet advice, thanks :)
  • Different people can be affected differently push for a scan from your doc hope you feel better soon Xxx
