blood around umbilical cord?

My baby is 6 days old and there is dried blood around the base of her umbilical cord / belly button. It looked like it was getting ready to fall off, is it normal to have blood around it?? When do umbilical cords usually fall off?

    My sons had a bit of dried blood they say it's ok as long as it doesn't continue to bleed. My sons fell off at 9 days.

    My pedi said its ok for it to bleed alittle before it falls off and also a day or two after.

    Ya that's normal, just keep cleaning it. They sometimes stay on for up to 10 days.

    I freaked out too when I saw blood but its fine just as long as its not like dripping blood also make sure you like really get in there to clean it like kind of pull the skin down cause the hospital didn't show me how to clean it but the doctor did
