rash on back of baby's head/neck??

My baby girl has a rash on the lower part of the back of her head under her hair close to her neck. I noticed it today when I was giving her a bath. Is this something I should be worried about? Anyone else's baby have this? She's only 12 days old.

Could it be a heat rash? Maybe from her clothes rubbing it and the neck is an area that stays pretty warm.

Its from sweating...my son had it, it will go away on its own

My son got that on and off from clothes rubbing and sweating. It usually settles down in a few days on its own

My son has it too and I asked his dr about it on Monday. She told me it was a 'stork bite' (I think) which was a birth mark and that it would never fully go away, just get lighter! I wanted to cry lol I hope she is wrong and it is from sweating like everyone says!!!

My daughter has it. I have it. My mom haS it too. It's a birth mark:) and Wut a fab place to have one if u ask me!!!

Both my kids have it but its a birth mark. Is it like a raised rash or hush red because I know a lot of babies in my family have it as a birth mark

My daughter started getting it after she got baby acne (still sort of has that) so I just assumed it was part of it... but sweating and clothes rubbing makes total logical sense.

My son has the same birthmark on the back of his head/neck...it get's red when he is mad or isn't feeling well. lol

Thanks guys, the pediatrician said it was a birthmark! Never seen one like that before lol
