id really like some advice pls. me and my fiance are 18 hes in college and living with his mum and im currently unemployed and living with my nan who i care for. im due sep 7th...but wed like to have our own place to raise the baby..but we dont know wat to do...anyone have any advice pls? x

The first thing you should do is talk to the Citizens Advice Bureau and they'll advise you on whether you'd be suitable for social housing. I'm not sure on what you'd like to do in regards for care for your nan but it's a good place to start to make sure you know your options. :-)

Hi im frm uk too. I know how u feel when I was preg with my 1st I lived with my mum and bf with his parents. Its hard wen ur preg to try get a place cuz u wont qualify for full housing benifit till your little one is born. Have you put your name for council houses yet? If nt I would pt your name down as they usually have a long waiting list. I went private landlord bt because I was under 25 and hadnt had my baby yet they would only pay half my rent and each month me and bf had to rake up other half it was hard. Once your baby born u wil be entitled to full housing benifit which wil usually cover all your rent and your council tax will be paid. You jst gta nw think could you afford to run a house nw or would you rather wait till little one was born.

Lol am sure thy wil b fine. When I was preg with my 1st I was 19 and so scared to tell her bt turned out she was more excited than me when I told her lol. And I think your parents probs expecting it with you already been engaged :-)

Its funny you should say that actually..lol when i spoke to my mum on the phone to announce the engagement she asked me if i was lol but only as she feels id be making a mistake with only being 18 and she wants me to live a little before being tied down with a baby..the thing is id rather that then haveing a big career and going partying every weeked...but theres just no pleaseing my parents but i can see their point when it comes to financial stability..we hardly have any.. which worries me also.

I was 19 when I had my son and I wasnt working was at college bt had to leave halfway through the course because of severe sickness. I wasnt financially stable either and to be honest im still nt well off but my son wants for nothing and he has parents that love him. Year after having him I went back to college got my A Levels which means I can nw go to university. Am pregnant again with 2nd child so university on hold for a while bt way I see it is I would rather raise my child myself then pay someone else to while I work. Im lucky I have a supportive bf who works but he says tht I should work when kids start nursery or school because before then the best care they can get is frm family.

Wow, sounds like youve got it worked out then ^^ congrats on ur second pregnancy btw. If you dont mind me asking, do you get any financial help and support too with only ur bf working atm..?

Thankyou and congrats on ur 1st lol. Yeah we get child benifit weekly and working tax credits. Bt if u and ur partner wernt working wen baby born yous will get income support, child benifit and child tax credits. Also free milk tokens and housing benifit and council tax paid. When your 31 weeks you can go to jobcentre and go onto income support and if you do that you also get 500pounds maternity grant to help towards buying babys things

oh wow O.O ur very knowledgeable i must say thank you lol this information is gonna help us a lot when we know if alls well when i go for my first scan, its at 12 weeks, right? and thanks, i hope all goes well with ur second... if im honest im very scared to have my first...but soooo excited lol

There is alot of help for unemployed parents. You would get roughly 90 per week income support. 20 per week child benifit and 65 per week child tax credits. Me and bf and son managed to live ok for a year on benifits til he got his licences and training for his job

Your welcome and only know about it because I was in situation like yours. Yeah 1st scan usually around 12-13 weeks. I was exactly like tht with my son excited and nervous and im the same this time lol :-)

Im 6 weeks tomorrow due 17th sept. Yeah I was so scared of going into labour at 1st. Heard alot of storys about how painfull it was. Was dreading due date bt my son was quite comfy in womb he didnt wana come out. Ended up goin 15 days over and had to be induced. It wasnt half as bad as I had been told and any pain you feel is worth it when you holding ur baby in your arms for 1st time. And as for the pregnancy I loved it that was when the sickness had eased lol.

I want 9 months to be over now then lol i just wanna hold it in my arms and know its safe but i must admit i am looking forward to the later pregnancy part when im showing etc, im craving pastry atm and not feeling sick much..hope thatmeans everything is ok ... i must admit im dreading the labour part but more for my fiance than me, as when it comes to pain im gonna put him through a lot lol but after the birth i dunno what he'll do as he's clueless when it comes to babies..but he is so excited to learn and take care of it, so no matter how much he knows about them, i know he will make a great dad

I loved showing my bump off. I startd properly showing at around 18 weeks I woke up one morning and it was jst there lol. Yeah cravings are normal at min im craving indian currys lol sounds like he will be a great dad. I wasnt very clued up on babys but it all came naturally after my son was born. Depending if your hospital does it you may b allowed to find out the sex of baby at your 20 week scan. I found out with my son bt I want to keep it a suprise this time but bf wants to find out again lol. Ive noticed alot of ppl on here are frm us and otha countries. Actualy glad you made this thread bcause our country does it so different frm others and ano we all pregnant bt ppl in other countries have scans about 5-6 weeks and can find out sex at earliest 13 weeks makes me bit jealous that im in uk lol

Im not showing much but i have liek a little pouch in my lower abdomen..which is hopefully normal, but i cant wait to have a bump and show it off lol XD i hope that it does...i think im either going to my local one or will have to go to Hull ....which apparently isnt that gd. i definatly want to know the sex as then i can start buying etc Yhe, it just seems to be everyone from the US, i dont see why its different tbh...it should be the same her -_- we always have to wait lol

Even tho im only 6 weeks tomorrow im already at the stage where ppl will be thinking is she pregnant or fat lol my stomach constantly bloated and ive gone up a bra size already. Was hopin to keep it quiet till after 1st scan bt wen u had flat tummy nd no boobs before I fell it gna be hard to keep it hidden for long bcoz u apparently show sooner if u have already had baby. I know when ppl are talkin bowt vitamins ive never heard of and how they get scans when 1st see doctor it makes me feel as if im a 1st time mum and keep having to say to myself its different in other countries

well my stomach wasnt completely flat but if i wear tight clothing u can see i have a tiny bump..lol hence why i wear baggy now ^^" only my fiance can tell i have a bump..lol yeh i went up about a week ago too..hurt so much, but il deal with it. Yeh ur supposed to if uve had ur first im taking folic acid tablets atm and thats it..but i cant swallow them, i cut them in half and try to swallow them with water but they just wont go ...can i chew them in food..then wash down with water..? lol (ive only just started taking them the last few days after seeing the doc.

Yeah am only taking folic acid tablets too atm am expecting iron tablets when I see midwife after she takes my blood. I was anemic last pregnancy and gta feeling I am again. Erm am nt sure if u can its best to have read of the instructions. The ones the doc gave me are tiny cuz I usually have big problem swallowing tablets bt these ones have been fine

the instructions are useless tbh..it just says take with food and water..so im confused :S
there small yellow round ones...but they still wont go down i dont know how im gonna cope for the next few weeks, especialy if i end up getting more to take :S..

I cant see them doing any harm if you chew them with food. You should b able to stop taking them after ur 1st trimester. I hated taking them with my son cuz I thought thy smelt of fish lol and thy used to get stuck in my throat.

yeh me neither, i just dont want to incase its dangerous for the baby :S im so confused...i may try chewing it with food then, im trying to find info on the net but no look atm. Yeh they have a strange smell..:/...

I dont think it will harm the baby cuz its stil gna go dwn to ur stomach so chewing it with food should be ok. Ano its nt the same bt my son had swine flu last year and the tamiflu was only avilable in tablet form and bcoz he couldnt swallow tablet with water he had to chew it with his food so a think chewin the folic acid should be ok

ive only found one site where a woman says she chews the tescos ones lol i shall just try it that way i thnk...if i become really ill then ill assume and go see the doctor
