  • Im still pregnant but got my induction date today but Ive been using regular baby oil since about 3 months once a day and at about 7 months, I switched to palmers coco butter stretch mark therapy oil and use it 3 times a day. I have a few purple ones on my belly under my belly button but the palmers has vitamin e in it and its really good, the ones i have have already faded some and i plan on continuing to use it after i give birth.
  • I hate to tell u this but they will most likely never go away. They will lose the purple coloring after time tho. My lover stomach is totally covered. I hate tgem but i realize why they r there and thats ok. Good luck to u.
  • I look like a purple tiger :( I've been trying to find something to help them fade away, but haven't had any luck so far.
  • @JessAnnEngland I used palmer cocoa butter lotion throughout my pregnancy and I stillended up getting huge stretchmarks towards the end of my pregnancy :-( You're just lucky to have good stretchy skin lol

@mommyof3girls Yeah I kinda thought so too. I was hoping I can get them to shrink a little. Im covered in them literally
  • @armywife0529 Oh yes I feel your pain mama! I have purple marks all over my tummy, upper and lower thighs, and calfs. Ugh and I only weighed 139lbs and started at 104lbs. It sucks even though it was for a good cause
  • Thats why I used oil instead of lotion because its more penetratable to the skin. I do use the lotion everywhere else though. There is Mederma for stretch marks but its uber expensive. I know nothing will take them away but for how expensive it is, it should do something for the appearance of them.
  • @JessAnnEngland How much is mederma? And do you know where its sold? Geeze thats where I went wrong I really had faith in the lotion!
  • @LolasBabyNum1 at Walmart its $39.97. Its called Mederma Stretch Mark Therapy. Theres a few types of Mederma there also, for stretch marks, for scars, for kids..etc. Heres the link. http://mobile.walmart.com/ip/Mederma-Stretch-Marks-Therapy-150g/15111069
  • I just looked and its the same price at Walgreens.
  • Theres also good reviews on it on Walmart's site.
  • @JessAnnEngland Oh ok Thank you so much! :-)
  • I used bio oil hoping that I wouldn't get any but stretch marks are genetics I have a few on my tummy and sides... I was upset at first abt them because I cant wear a two piece anymore but then istarted to think why they're their and that being a mom a dnt want to wear a two piece so WELCOME TO MOMMY HOOD AND ENJOY THOSE NEW STRETCH MARKS :-D
  • P.s someone posted a while ago abt red light therapy.. not sure if it works but ilooked it up and it had good reviews
  • Mine were purple now they are tan. Im 5 months pp. it takes time
  • I have stretch marks from when I was younger from growing so fast. I absolutely hated them! They are now faded alot but they are still there! I am not overweight either I just have crappy genes lol. I can only imagine what it'll be like when I'm preggo. I hear bio oil is good!! Or cocoa butter! My hunny calls them beauty marks so they don't bother me too much lol.
  • @LolasBabyNum1 youre welcome! Ive also used bio oil but i dont think i put it on enough plus i was younger and didnt know what u was doing/how to use it. Ive heard of red light therapy too, wonder if its expensive?? :/

Ive never heard of red light therapy. Is it like getting a tan or something?? @JessAnnEngland
  • Amazon has mederma for $27. Its called stretch mark therapy. I just started using it. It smells decent n makes my skin reeally soft. It says you wont start to see results until 4 wks, n then will see definite results at 12wks. It says they wont completely go away, but it'll make the skin softer n more even ans will reduce the color

@alilboulding Awesome Im just going to get some of that so far thats been the only thing I heard that has good reviews and your opinion on it. Thanks Ill try amazon as well :-)
  • Bio oil. I got stretch marks pretty bad, and have only been using it for a short period of time, and I can barely see them! And its not expensive. $13 at walmart.
  • @EricaK22 Im not trying to be a rude. But are you light skin or dark? Im very light and my stretchmarks are very dark & purple
  • @lolasbabynum1 I'm pasty white! lol Mine were red, but they are really reallt light now. Deff give the bio oil a try!
  • @EricaK22 Lol ok I'll give it a try. Thanx mama
  • I got really bad ones on my legs from my first pregnancy that faded with time and moisturiser and losing the baby weight helps too. Make sure you give the worse areas a good scrub when in tge shower, getting rid of the dead skin encourages new growth helps them fade faster. Took. About 6 months for them to fade to that silvery white where they arent so noticeable.
Second time around I didn't get any :-)
  • @tinka1326 oh thats cool! Never heard of that. That will be on my list of things to try
  • Even though mine arent noticeable anymore I still do it out of habit lol
  • @tinka1326 Lol im sure all us ladies have a force of habit of something :p
