IUD - perhaps a silly question

Alright, I have paraguard, the copper IUD, and it was put in about 6 months ago. When it was originally put in, the dr had me check if I could feel the string, and I could just barely scrape it with my fingertip. I just checked now, and I can easily feel it, probably about down to my first knuckle on the top.

So my question is, can it move up and down depending on the time if the month, or has it come loose?

No clue honestlh...i had a paragaurd for 2 and a half years, but I never once felt anything, ever....i am working on getting it again, but I have to get a chlamydia test again...? Hmmm idk but bump

Call your Dr and have it checked ASAP. I had one for 5 years no problems string always was in same place, then in January it felt weird, it feel out 4 days later, come to find out because I was pregnant. I lost that baby right away, got a new one put in end of February. Got pregnant again, iud stayed in, lost that one as well. Found out in August that I am prego again, iud feel out and we are expecting another girl in April. So I say get it checked better to be safe that everything is ok. Good Luck keep me posted

My friend got prego on an iud, had it taken out, and then lost the baby I hope that doesn't happen!

Thats sad. I wonder if its because of the iud? I got pregnant while on the pill when I was 18, and I ended up miscarrying because of it.

It can cause a miscarriage, however it doesn't always, I am currently 6 months prego baby and I seem to be very healthy.

I havent. I was going to this morning, but then my boyfriend told me that we have to make a 3 hr drive to go see his grandma in the hospital. I did tell him that we need to use condoms until I get it checked out

Same thing happened to me and i turned out to be 6 weeks pregnant!! I suggest you get checked ASAP!!!
