Bd can't get it up with condoms. It kills his mood. @Homebirthadvocate

  • I am having problems on ocella and trying to figure out what pill to go on. My gyn pushes the iud and I have decided it's not for me. I feel like I am always so hormonal and nasty on any bc pill and worry about blood clots and strokes. Hubby hates condoms but I think that is the only solution.

  • We have been using condoms since my lo was born 10 weeks ago and have had too many issues, breaking, coming off, being naughty and not using them, forgetting we have run out... So its iud for me...
  • @HomeBirthAdvocate I was on ocella for 2 months and stopped after my last week of placebo pills. I started another very heavy period 10 days after my last period. Is this normal? I also had a faint positive pregnancy test a few days before my last period started, then had spotting and cramping. I took another test and it was negative. I called my dr but with the holidays I never got a call back and felt better so I didn't follow up. I am wondering if I should try to get an appointment??? It won't be covered by insurance until January 25th. Any advice would be appreciated since you are always so knowledgeable.

  • @steph_due_101611 u n i are alot alike lol i have bad mood swings on any bc im on the mini pill to and ive noticed my anger is outta whack
  • @alwayzbeenurz2008 my anger is so outta wack. I got pissed and was crying and screaming and whipped my phone at the windshield when bd was driving.
  • I got pissed because he broke his phone and had to pay $300 dollars for a new phone when im already waiting for him to pay me the $300 he owes me.
  • Some women just get periods even while nursing. I had one the whole time with each of my babies. It may not be the minipill causing the moodiness, breastfeeding takes a lot out of you. I was also on the minipill, it only has one hormone in it, progestin. It is meant to stop ovulation in about half of your cycles. The way it really keeps you from getting pregnant is a change in cervical mucous. Prevents sperm from getting through your cervix. It has very low hormones in it. That's why they recommend it to nursing moms. If you feel that it isn't right for you, there are plenty of other BC options. I seen IUD mentioned above, if you go that route, Mirena has the same exact hormone as the minipill. There is also the copper IUD, it doesn't use hormones.
  • I got prego on ocella. There was an article talking about how they messed up a bunch of placebo pills with the active ones... Not going back to that again!
  • @fate everything started after i started the pill. The psycho mood swings. The periods, only 2.5wks apart. I don't usually have a 28day cycle. I usually have a 33day cycle. Heck i used to only get my period 6x a year, every other month.
  • I don't have a 28 day cycle either. Mine has always been 38. You've got to give your body time to adjust.

I got the following info from http://www.progestinsideeffects.org/

Progestin is safe to use for women who are breast feeding. While other types of pill can affect the production and quality of breast milk, progestin pills do not have this effect.

Different women face different forms of progestin side effects. The common side effects are the following:

    •Headache

    •Dizziness

    •Breast pain or tenderness

    •Longer periods

    •Pain in the lower abdominals

    •Mood swings

    •Dryness and less menstrual period

    •Appetite changes

    •Acne and/or skin rash

Most likely, some other sort of stressor is causing you to lose your milk, not the pills. Bleeding when you start the pill is very normal. This website has very good information about progestin. I'd give it a look! I've had the IUD also, with and without hormones, the copper one gave me the worst periods of my life! Painful and HEAVY. Also, the minipill is very unforgiving!!! You have to take it at the exact time everyday! If you don't, you may became pregnant. It takes an entire month for it to work properly. I, myself, did not have success with the minipill, as I'm pregnant now even though I followed the directions to a T.
  • I take it the EXACT same time everyday. I set an alarm so i do t forget, but i can't even have sex cause everytime i turn around im spotting or bleeding. I've been on the pill almost a month and haven't had sex since i been on. @fate but I've always suspected having pmdd and i think im gonna jump back to that suspicion and talk to my dr.

Good idea! Sometimes you have to put in someone else's hands. I hope things get better for you!
