NPR - little fender bender

edited January 2012 in Just for Fun
Right after I got off work yesterday, I was behind a vehicle getting ready to turn right on to a main road. I am positive that we had a green light, the vehicle started to go, so I let off the brake and looked left to make sure no one was coming. Next thing I know I had rolled into the back of this person's car.
She gets out looks at her bumper and says everything is fine so we both go on.
Then, she flags me down by flashing her brights so I pull off onto a side road. It is her fiance's vehicle (a PT Cruiser) and she said she thought everything was ok and "doesn't believe in lawsuits..." so she didn't call the police. I gave her my number just in case. She said she wouldn't say anything to her fiance unless he noticed the small dent, more like a scratch (seriously like maybe an inch in the black plastic part on the FAR right that I don't believe my car caused). I didn't notice any damage to my car (05 Honda Accord).
She must have seen the "baby on board" cling on that I have because she asked if my son was in the car. He wasn't.
She just called me and apparently her fiance is furious that we didn't call the police. She also mentioned that she started hurting and went to the ER...she didn't tell me if they found anything wrong.
What rights do I have here if they decide to take me to court or something? I realize that we were both in the wrong by not calling the police and it was my fault for hitting her. I didn't think to take any pictures.
What should I do?
My mom is suppose to be calling our insurance because I am still on her plan, just pay her for it every month.

Since you have insurance they will take care of it...you might get a ticket for hitting her but thats about it! Also at such a slow speed I highly doubt she is actually "hurting"....
  • Bump. Now she is saying she wants to take the car and get an estimate on the damage. Wtf? And she is saying there is white paint on the bumper from my car. My car is silver! And I promptly went outside and inspected my car and there is NO paint missing. I also took pictures.
Apparently her son is a cop and says that she wouldn't get in any trouble for leaving the scene. Anyone know?? HELP!?
  • Contact the police, let them know your side of the story and also let your insurance know! Especially since she is messing around and saying all that stuff...
