baby's dry scalp- what to use?

edited January 2012 in Babies
I'm looking for a product safe enough to use on my baby girl's semi-dry scalp. It seems to itch her from time to time, and the back of her head, where she has broken/damaged hair from too much rubbing against her sleeping sac, needs moisture.

I was told to use coconut oil, but the only one I could find had too many chemicals.

Any one have any recommendations?

  • I use baby oil on my son, I leave it in for a couple hours then I give him a bath.
  • I use infacare its amazing, everything else makes his head dry after one use. I am in the UK though so not sure if they sell it everywhere x
  • I use baby oil. I put it on in the morning then wash of at bed time bath.
  • My son's pediatrician told me to use dandruff shampoo such as Head and Shoulders?! You just have to be careful when rinsing bc it is not as gentle as baby shampoo!
  • My doc told me baby oil hours before bath and brush with a soft bristle brush.
  • Ive been told by my health visitor and nurse to use olive oil. Rub it on and the dry bits of skin should soften enough to be just rubbed off! I'm trying this later!
  • I was told selsen(sp) blue which I'm pretty sure is a dandruff shampoo.
  • extra virgin olive oil
