My best friend and I have the same doctor and frequently go to eachothers appointments (she is a single momma and my hubby works alot). While our doctor had an emergency she had to see a different doctor in the office. She expressed to him her concerns of having a large baby (bd was 10+ lbs and she has gestational diabetes). Her first son was only 5# and she ripped really bad. Well his advice to her "with your measurements try getting him out before 34 weeks if you want a small baby". I was blown away! What kind of advice it that! She is worried about ripping but wants a healthy baby. Ugh! We were talking today and I told her ignore him and talk to our doctor her next appointment. What kind of dumb doctor advises a scared momma to be to attempt to induce herself before term!?

Omg! That is abominable. I would have slapped the snot out of that doctor! Smh, sometimes I really wonder about people.

@MOM2ING he is a doctor and she had a concern. That is not the time or place to be a smartass. What if she took him up on the advice and something happened to the baby or her?!
@2ndtimearound that's what I told her. Have them note not to schedule her with him and if an emergency arises reschedule or wait.

It really bothers me because she is genuinely worried.

Wow thats really insensitive..When I asked my dr about the size of this baby(my last baby was 9.7) he just told me not to worry too much about it. and that they would keep an eye on the size

:O Wowwww!!! Smart ass or not, what kind of doctor would say that?! What if he said that to the wrong person and they self induced that early?? Sounds like a liability issue to me. Dickhead LOL.

Exactly! Im just glad I wasn't the only one to see his advice as ignorant and dangerous!
