My Pregly Friends will Probably be the Only One's Who Know My Name Ideas...

So I have decided to keep any baby name ideas for my little girl under wraps until after she is born. I have a family friend who thinks she is going to name our daughter. Example: last night she was over and throwing out names. If I didn't like one she got all defensive. Then, my 5 year old said me and mommy are naming my little sister. Well that just irritated her more. She said "what we (meaning my mom and her) say has a lot to do with it" I simply said it really doesn't. Anything I have come up with is "stupid" or "weird" Therefore, I have decided that if I want any opinions, I'm coming here. Opinions are fine (good or bad) but she is under the impression that she has the final say and refuses to accept the fact that her input means very little.
Is anyone else having this issue with someone close to them?

I like Sue's idea! I would just explain to them how important it is for you to name your baby and how much it matters to you. The name I came up with for my first child was "weird" to my mom, but I told her, you'll love it no matter the name

I am... I'm only 9 weeks and everyone who knows is already trying to persuade me to go with their suggestions. My mind is already made up for a girl, and yesterday I decided on a boys name (still subject to some tweaking though). Bottom line, it's my baby, and I choose the name. Not even the father has a say.

@casnleslie I know too well all about this subject. W/ my daughter her dad didn't like the name Mackenzie so I compromised & settled for the name him & his family liked. When she was 2 he walked out & hasn't seen her since. W/ my son, his grandpa was furious that I wasn't continuing the family name (my husband is a JR but technically a 5th) & there was no way my son was going to be a 3rd or 6th lol. Having the same issue w/ this one. Now my husband's upset cuz I won't name a boy after him so he won't even help me pick out names. If my son would have been a girl I liked the name Brooklyn Kassidy but everybody kept telling me it was stupid & sounded like a snobby girls name. His dad told me that he refused to have a granddaughter w/ that name & I told him you don't really have a choice what I name MY child. This time I'm keeping my names under wraps except for on here cuz if somebody wants to take my name I don't care cuz I don't really know them lol. What names do you like so far?

If it's a girl I like Aubrey but I wanted something different so I came up with Aubriana
& for a boy the only name I like is Ryelan.
