40 cupcakes is more than I thought what did I get myself into!

I have to make cupcakes for my brothers gfs sons bday tomorrow. 40 of them!! I am just now realizing that's alot lol. I am making Elmo and cookie monster. I saw it on stupid pintrest and thought oh looks easy haha so I volunteered! I am using cream cheese frosting and used food coloring but the colors are not dark enough. Any baking mommas have suggestions on how to make the colors brighter/darker in the frosting?!

Color paste works a lot better than liquid dye. idk if its sold in grocery stores but def baking supply stores hope it works out for you!

In Walmart, I think its on the wedding aisle, not the regular baking aisle.

The gel food coloring is fabulous and Wat-Mart does carry it as well as most grocery stores.

No, there's a paste I buy.... it comes in a little tube. Don't know the brand could be wilton ? I don't have any right now to check. you only need a little bit of this stuff but it is expensive

Thanks for all the suggestions! I used a gel food coloring for the red and its just tasting bitter now and looks hot pink! my blue came out ok.. But I think I might have to buy red frosting.

Its a wilton product and it also comes in small containers...they sell it at Joannes and michaels.

Thank you everyone! I worked hard on them lol the kids loved them and the parents. I ended up using food coloring then this food coloring spray. It worked great!
