menstrual like cramps at 36 weeks

Im 36 weeks. My last appointment on Friday they told me my cervix was softening. Yesterday I was having tightening in my stomach and today... not to the point on being in pain but uncomfortable. But today I am having menstrual like cramps and back pain. What does this mean?

    To me it sounds like the beginings of labor. If ur worried call ur doc they should be able to give u a better clue! Good luck ur almost there!

    Yeah its the beginning signs of labor. Pretty much you are starting to get contractions especially if your cervix is starting to soften you are probably starting to dialate. Good luck.
