Themes & ideas for son's 1st bday :D

Baby John is only 7 months right now, so I still got a few months to go. But I like to plan everything out ahead of time ;) i'm in Texas, & in September it's about 108degrees outside so I want something indoors.. what's a good kiddy place for 1st bdays? Any ideas on what kind of theme I should do? & for his cake I wanted to get him one of those GIANT cupcakes since it'll be his bday & regular size cupcakes for everyone else...all ideas are welcome :D

    You can go to a place with an indoor pool and have a pool party. My daughters bday is in January so it's cold n snowy do we do a indoor pool party
