9month old playing with ears

We got our daughters ears pierced a month ago and she is started pulling at her ears today. She is sleeping a lot and eating as usual. She doesn't seem overly fussy. My question is, do you think this is a phase because of her age, getting her ears pierced or ear infection? How will I know if she has an ear infection?

You should take her to the doctor, that's the only way to know for sure. I assume it's an infection. I would take her, an untreated ear infection can lead to hearing loss amongst other things. I hope she feels better :)
  • Could be teething... We got my daughter's ears pierced when she was 2 months old. She never rubbed, touched, or pulled at her ears after we had hers done.
  • I took my son to the doctor about five times because of this he would pull on his ears and cry no ear infection he was just being spoiled when he didn't get what he wanted he pulled on his ears and screamed he was about 9 or 10 months I'm so glad he is over that. The doctor would check his ears and say nope no ear infection just spoiled. But its better to be safe than sorry drip of breastmilk helps in the ear weird I know but it worked for me when he was a baby (:
