Allergic to desitin?

I'm pretty sure my sons allergic to desitin. I put it on his butt last night for his diaper rash, and it was gone by the morning, and I thought it took care of it, but I guess I was wrong. I put it on him after his bath since he has diarrhea from the antibiotic I have to give him daily now for 10 days. He didn't poop, but had a wet diaper, and when I changed him he looked like he was burned!

Has anyone elses baby had a reaction to desitin? What did you use and not have any problems with.

    @mom2ing as soon as the desitin gets wiped off he stops screaming, and the last few bm's he's had he wasn't red until I put the desitin on him. I started searching online after I posted this and other ppl have had problems with it as well. Must be the chemicals in it?

    He may be allergic to the zinc-oxide. It's nasty stuff!

    I use triple paste my Dr adv it bc my son had bad diaper rash bc he had really wet poops:( its expensive but works:) they also have triple paste body wash

    @mijita that could be it..he never gets red until I use it! I just found out it had lots of cancer causing ingredients as well.

    I had a friend who's baby literally screamed every time she put desitin on her baby. A&D has always worked great for us (petroleum based, as suggested by @mom2ING).

    @mom2ing I never use anything on him that's not plant based, or organic, I can't even use j&j baby wash on him or he breaks out. I will have to grab some burts bees diaper rash ointment when he wakes up.

    @homebirthadvocate I couldn't find any burts bees at cvs so I bought a&d I hope it works!

    Dang babies and sensitive skins. I had to drive to a city twenty mins away cause they were the only ones with lavendar aveeno lotion

    @salasmommy he's had a yeast infection before, and it was worse looking than this. This comes and goes.

    ? My baby has had that it looks like his skin was burn almost. The doctor gave me a antibiotic that had cortison cream too

    His urine may be a little more acidic due to minor or full on teething.
