blood clots and meds

Hey just found out I have clots in top of right leg they suspect from giving birth to savannah so now I'm on inohep and wolferine(sp) just wondered if any1 else had this and what side effects u had? So far feeling reli sicky sleepy crampy tummy xx

Warfarin? Any med can cause upset stomach. Other side effects off the top of my head is excessive bleeding and bruising. Those are the most common in my patients.

yer that's the 1 @captivated I'm brusing from the inohep reli bad and also reli bad itching in the leg where clot is (see nurse tomorrow so going to mention jw how normal it was) lol xx

I am not sure about the itching! I haven't come across that as a side effect other than from opiates. Or allergies to meds, but you said it is in one specific area, so I don't know. Sorry to be so useless!

So I just read that itching at the site of a clot is a normal symptom of a blood clot.

My wife had a dvt before kids and found she was drowsy for about the first week of being on meds. She was on injections twice a day for the first week plus one tablet daily. After the first week it was tablet only and she started to feel better. I know she had itching around the clot area also as it was breaking down I guess.

She stayed on tablets for a long time as hers was a major clot ranging from about 3inches below the knee to about 3inches above. She stopped taking the meds as we actually discovered she was pregnant but due to major health and safety issues she decided to terminate. She didn't go back on meds after that but that then also restricted what birth control she can take ie no pill.

Every pregnancy she has had to have heparin injections daily until 6wks post part um and they used to recommend a low dose aspirin but now that doesn't get used as much.
