edited May 2012 in Babies Health
My daughter is almost 8 months and has a fever 102.3 (rectally takin) she is teething and busting a tooth (her 4th) as we speak but this is her first fever should I take her in or what do y'all think? I took her temp around 4 and it was 101.6 then around 6 it was 102.4 then gave her Tylenol and took it again about 7:15 it was 102.2 then gave her a luke warm bath and it was 102.3 after and she hasn't been eating as much as normal and is a bit more fussy then normal

  • Personally I would try Tylenol and Motrin rotating before I took her in. Tylenol just isn't very effective in some babies. If it didn't go down then, I would make an appointment with the ped tomorrow. Hope she feels better!
  • Yep, i would try motrin too. I hope ur little one feels better SOON.
  • However, I would keep checking it regularly as well! If it gets up to 104 or above, take her to the ER :(
  • @mama_kat @captivated @mommyof3girls its going down! We're down to 101.5 gonna wait it out and check her every hour or two through the night and see how it goes

Her temp went down to 100.4 and they said she has a virus that causes sores in the back of her mouth.. and she had only ate 3ozs today but we just got home and she's eating a bottle now and has almost finished it.. so getting better slowly
  • O wow wonder Wat kind of virus that is glad she's getting better
  • Ouch! I hope she feels better soon.
