Losing his voice..?

Yesterday my lo sounded funny when he woke up. His voice sounded really high pitched, and squeaky. Today when he cries his voice is even more squeaky, but he's not as loud. Is it possible for a 1 year old to lose his voice? I've also thought about him having a sore throat, and that's why he sounds like he does?

had he been screaming a lot lately? or crying a lot? It might just be a sore throat. Does he seem to be in pain?

@Ashley_smashley he's always screaming and this hasn't happened. He seems to be ok, just more clingy than usual. And hasn't been around any sick ppl so I'm confused why he sounds so squeaky, and high pitched, but muffled.
