Self feeding with spoon

When did your lo become interested in using a spoon? My son is 1 today, and for the past few days wants to use the spoon to feed himself. I let him hold it, and I move his hand for him, but he takes it to his mouth by himself. When do they normally start self feeding with spoons? I feel like he's too young to do it on his own, but I want him to hurry up so I can eat normally again with no interruptions lol

    Mine both started at 1 my first would not let me feed him at all after 1 it was messy but that's how they learn :)
