baby yeast infection help

edited July 2012 in Babies Health
Last week my DD was prescribed amoxicillan for an ear infection, and it wasn't better this past Friday and Is now taking cefdinir. I believe that now she has a yeast infection from the constant meds. Its more than just a rash she is completely red and slightly swollen and screams when I try to change her. She's 9.5 months. The dr answering service is not getting back to me so is there anything you guys know that I can do until Monday morning? Ty in advance

  • I know about yogurt. My husbands going out now for some but any otc creams? I know no powder
  • Monistat! Just use the cream on where she's red. I use it on my son when he gets kinda red, and bumpy, and by the next morning it's gone.
  • Aloe vesta. It can be bought at a medical supply store. Its a miracle cream for many things. It works wonders on yeast infections.
  • Lotramin AF with A&D or vaseline. Never fails me.

  • Is lotramin otc? @MrsStanley_x2
  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Or use a spray bottle with plain water and plain tissues with no lotion.
  • My LO gets it constantly... Give your LO a bath with sea salt.. it helps kill off the yeast. You also need nystate and a combination of diaper creaked like A&D, desitine and another.. forgot the name. I'll get back to you in he morning. So tired I can't think
  • My LO's infection was so bad we took her to the ER to.get her relief. They prescribed something and it cleared right up.
  • Sorry! Yes it is and it works amazing. It's what my ped even told me to use! Thanks @HomeBirthAdvocate for giving her the heads up. Lol I went to bed early and forgot to check back.
  • Thanks all! Just getting up and around and before I went to the store I called the dr just in case they decide to respond right away lol. And they said monistat and sitting in a bath of baking soda.
