private problems

edited July 2012 in Health
Since my son was 2 months old, he has 'cysts' on his privates. Well ever since his penis swells up, and puss comes out. N iv brought him to the et twice, and iv mentioned it to the Dr a few times. And they keep telling me its yeast infections.

I think I posted about this befor, but I feel like there down playing this, and I dont want this to be an issue for him down the road. His penis randomly swells, and pusses, so idk what to do..? Is it really that common for yeast infections to happen a lot? Am I doing anything wrong!?

  • That doesn't sound like a yeast infection. Maybe try taking him to a childrens hospital? Is he circumcised?
  • Ya, hes circumcised. If I brought him to the children's hospital, and it wasn't swollen could they do anything..?

    This maybe a dumb question, but he has BMC medical (like masshealth) do u think he'll be covered?
  • No, you should take him when it's swollen and has puss coming from it. Maybe they could refer you to a pediatric urologist so they can do some tests.

    Does he seem like he's in pain when it happens? I don't know anything about that insurance, but I'm sure a visit to a childrens hospital would be covered.
  • He's in pain when you touch it. And I think he's a bit more agitated when it happens.

  • See if you can get in with a urologist. That is what I would do for peace of mind.

  • I'd take him now if it's happening tonight. Anytime pus is present there's done sort of infection happening.

    Is it coming from the tip or from one of the cysts?
  • Yes definitely ask for referral! If they won't give you one, switch pediatricians. Even if he has some kind of severe yeast infection or diaper rash, that's not normal and should be treated, not downplayed. It doesn't matter what kind of insurance you have. We had to get NH healthy kids (Medicaid) for my son when he required surgery at 4 days old. He went to the best hospital and sees a wonderful cardiologist. Insurance covered everything. Don't be afraid to fight for him, mama! ;-)
  • The puss is coming from the sides at the edge of the tip. I'm guessing from the cyst. Cuz there white, and pussy.

    N its not happening now.
