I had a d&c 1 1/2 weeks ago. I woke up today with awful pains in my stomach. The pain is all over my stomach, I am in so much pain. At first I thought mayb my period but I know it's not that, this pain is so bad that I cant do anything. Do u think it's infection? Should I go to the er or wait to see my Dr tomorrow?
@homebirthadvocate. Or anyone

  • If it is real bad i would go to the er or maybe call in call dr
  • Hmm. The only pain I had was right after the procedure. It hurt to pee for the first day or so. I'd call the doc about it. You shouldn't still hurt. :/

    I would go to the er if it is that painful.

    It could be endometritis or PID from the d&c. I got endometritis twice.

  • @homebirthadvocate I was wondering if u could answer a few of my questions. So I went to the er on Monday they didn't really say much except take these antibiotics for infection. The xray tech called me tonight (Thursday) & said did they tell u that u had a 1 by 2 inch cyst on Ur right ovary that has erupted and u have fluid behind Ur uterus. I said no. He said to b sure an finish my meds then check with my Dr in 6 weeks.... my back still hurts, how serious is this? What should I do? & should I worry? Also do u think they could have popped it during the d&c? Sorry for all the questions but that phone call kinda scared me.
  • I'm not HBA, but I can answer. A cyst or ruptured cyst is nothing to be worried about. It's unlikely to be caused by the d&c and cysts are extremely common. You are probably still in some pain from the procedure. Doesn't sound like anything to be concerned about hun. So long as you take your antibiotics and they are effective, you are a-okay.
  • Thank you so much for answering @captivated that call scared me to death lol. Mayb because the er doctor sucked an gave me No explanation as to what the problem was. Either way thank you, you have put my mind at ease.
  • If you develop a fever or intensified pain, please go in though! So sorry for all of this. You're a strong woman!
