Ok so im so over this pregnancy and want the baby out. Im about to b 38 weeks and im dilated to 4cm . Today i have my dr apt hopefully im dilated more.. at how many weeks can they keep you and help u bring on the labor since im already dilated pretty far?...

Well they didnt break my water until I was 7cm and that was after me telling them I wanted to start the delievery proccess since I was in alot of pain and couldnt sit and wait in painful contractions any longer.. It really depends on which hospital you go to each l&d department has their own ideas and rules im guessing by what I see hear and experience... By 6cm they'll admit you into the hospital and you will stay until baby comes if not longer. I was pregnant for 42weeks so I feel you on this its exhausting and we just cant wait until they come already..

@mrz_jackson is correct. They won't induce before 39 weeks unless medically necessary because of the higher risk for malpractice issues if something goes wrong. It's to cover their a*ses.

It is pretty rare to go past four cm without being in "active" labor. I doubt you'll make it much longer! Once you get to five or six, it's pretty rare to not be having regular contractions.

Ask your doc to strip your membranes!! I had them stripped at 2 and four. Went into labor the next morning when I had them stripped at 4.

They wont help you continue labor til your at least 40 weeks. Im sorry. I kept going into early labor but wasnt progressing. So I always got sent home. My daughter finally came at (i think) 37+5 week. I hope you have your lo soon.

Thanks girls with my daughter my dr induced me at 38 weeks and everything went great she said all i needed was a lil medicine to progress since i was stuck at 4-5 cm for a few weeks and my experience with induction went great thank god i have my appointment at 12pm its 10am now so im going to ask her about it see wat she says cuz im frustrated already and having a 10 month old teething daughter isnt helping.. im exhausted n when i get up n walk i feel like something is poking me and pushing in my vajayjay

Wow u got lucky i tried wit my son at 38 wks an my dr was like o no we cant do anythang till 39 wks i was so miserable to i bet ur so ready lots of walking took me from 2cm to 3/4 cm an losing my plug maybe go walk around the mall or sumwhere where its cool

I think it depends in the doctor and the hospital you deliver. My original doctor was willing to induce at 38+5 the doctor who actually did induce me I had to.beg at 39 weeks.the hospital I delivered at didn't have a nicu so its not something they chance.

My hospital will admitt u at 4cm! I was 4 when I went to my drs apt but she didn't tell me that. But after she checked me and sent me home I went into labor. I didn't go to the hospital til I was 6cm but when I got there they told me I could have came right after my appointment lol!

Ask ur dr if she will sweep ur membranes...maybe that will get that baby out lol!

Also my best friend swears if u have sex three times in a row u will go into labor! I only did it once and It was enough for me hahaha! Sex at 37 weeks is no fun....good luck to u!

If you're at 4 you should be going into active labor anytime. Hang in there! After you have that little one in your arms this will all be a distant memory! lol

Thanks.girls ..well i.went to the.dr.and she said that the head is really low and im between 4-5 cm now and i told her.about.inducing and she.said they do it but till 39 weeks. But since i.havnt got. An ultrasound since like 26 weeks she scheduled one for me for wednesday because she says that the baby feels and is.measuring big and she wants to knw.his.weight so maybe since im dilated.far and baby is on the big side i might get induced earlier hopefully.. but.since the dr checked my cervix ive been contracting and i feel.lots of pain and pressure in my vajayjay and bottom.... this doesnt.feel.good..

So im still not feeling good i have really bad back pain and cramping and i feel soooooooo much pressure dwn there i cant even sit or lay dwn without feeling the pressure ... wat could it b? I feel like crying its so uncomfortable ever since the dr checked my cervix yesterday...

Im scared im thinking i probly dilated more but do i have to get contractions to b in labor? Or could it just be pain with no contractions?

Yea with my first daughter i would feel contractions either but with this baby i have but im just miserable now.. i want this over with...
